NEW: Cumbrian Insults tea-towel

Colourful retorts from the northwest frontier.

As the vernacular disappears from the English language, our new tea-towel is a celebration of some of Cumbria's finest historic insults.

Elegant artwork by Kendal-based Evelyn Sinclair illustrates 24 choice Cumberland and Westmorland putdowns, from 'Duddy Fuddiel' (ragged fellow) to 'Swag Belly't' (corpulent around the stomach); 'Stinjy Aal Carl' (bad-tempered old man) to 'Windy Bags' (an incessant talker).

Screen-printed in Britain on 100% premium cotton (white or natural).

Over the Hill at 60 Something?

An illustrated log of running the Lakeland summits as listed in the Wainwright Pictorial Guides. By Barry Holmes.

Recently-retired Barry Holmes thought he was over the hill at sixty. So he bought a pair of running shoes and challenged himself to bag the Lakeland fells.

His mission – sometimes painful, often wet, occasionally meandering, but always entertaining – takes him to all 214 Wainwright summits as he battles bracken, blizzards and blisters; injuries, white-outs, and weary limbs to discover the best and worst of Lakeland.

NEW: Herdwicks of the Lake District

Our tribute to the Lake District's iconic sheep breed.

At Inspired by Lakeland we love the Herdwick. So much that we commissioned Kendal-based artist Evelyn Sinclair to create a series of gently humourous illustrations featuring the native fell-wanderer.

During a long night over a bottle of wine we jotted down our favourite sheep puns, then Evelyn set to work bringing them to life. Cue 'Shorn the Sheep', 'Baa Code', "Where's Woolly?', 'Lamb Chop', 'I love Ewe' and many more...

We're delighted to offer them for sale as high quality, eco-friendly tea-towels, place mats and coasters. MORE >
